Malaria! - Cheerio (2006)

The material was originally recorded and released as an EP in 1982 on the renowned Belgian label Les Disques du Crépuscule. In 2006, a significant reissue of this classic material was released as part of a retrospective and catalog by Moabit Music, bringing the recording back into the spotlight among fans of minimal wave and post-punk.

The title "Cheerio" is an ironic farewell and a social commentary. The album captures Malaria!'s creative peak, when the band toured with The Birthday Party and Siouxsie and the Banshees, embodying the dark and experimental side of German New Wave (Neue Deutsche Welle).
