Elli & Jacno - Tout Va Sauter (1980)

"Tout Va Sauter" (1980) is the debut studio album by the French synthpop duo Elli & Jacno (Elli Medeiros and Denis Quiter, aka Jacno). The album is considered one of the seminal releases of the French electro-pop scene and the Chanson Synthétique movement.

After the breakup of their punk band Stinky Toys, Elli Medeiros and Jacno radically changed their direction. Instead of dirty guitar punk, Jacno embraced analog synthesizers, rhythm machines, and clean, economical arrangements, developing his signature minimalist sound.

The album is distinguished by Elli's fragile, slightly detached, yet flirtatious vocals, simple, catchy keyboard melodies, and clear, precise synthesizer parts. The album's title translates as "Everything Will Explode!", an ironic contrast to the restrained and measured sound of the music.

The track Moi Et Mon Copain featured the rising star of the Belgian and French pop scene, Lio, as a guest backing vocalist.
