The Letter is the debut studio album by the European disco project Queen Samantha, featuring Greek singer and vocalist Gloria Jones, who recorded in France under producer Charles Ibgui and musician Harry Chalkitis. A digital remaster was released in 2006.
The album's title track is a sweeping disco cover of the famous 1967 hit by The Box Tops. Queen Samantha's version is executed in the best traditions of epic Euro-disco of the late 1970s: with sweeping string and brass arrangements, percussion, a dense bassline, and emotional, powerful vocals.
Musically, the album perfectly captures the atmosphere of the dance floors of Studio 54 and the European club scenes of the late 1970s and 1980s.
