Composed by David Lindup, the soundtrack for the 1974 action-thriller Shatter stands as a classic Blaxploitation-style score, weaving together Funk, Soul, wah-wah guitars, and Quincy Jones-inspired Jazz. Its main theme draws heavy inspiration from Isaac Hayes's iconic work on Shaft. Due to heavy action sound effects in the film's theatrical edit, much of Lindup's music was originally obscured. Following decades of remaining unreleased, studio Hammer restored the original clean cues and made them commercially available for collectors.
