Ettore Scandolera - Plays Morricone (2021)

Italian classical guitarist Ettore Scandolera, educated at the Naples Conservatory and the Geneva University of Music under the guidance of Dusan Bogdanovic and Aniello Desiderio, released his solo album Plays Morricone. Coming a year after the passing of the legendary Roman composer Ennio Morricone, this release serves as the musician's second full-length effort following his 2019 debut Tangos et Danses.

The project features a dedicated cycle of classical guitar transcriptions of Morricone's iconic film scores. In these arrangements, Scandolera faithfully recreates the poetic depth, tenderness, and poignant character of the original works, translating sweeping orchestral arrangements and cinema scores into an intimate solo instrumental format.
