Foetus - Halt (2025) [Hi-Res]

New York composer JG Thirlwell presents HALT, the final album and the first release in twelve years from his landmark musical project Foetus. This record completes a grand conceptual arc that originally began in 1981 with the debut album DEAF.

The production of HALT spanned eight years. Musically, JG Thirlwell pursued a path of continuous sonic reinvention, incorporating unexpected structures to push the boundaries of industrial, avant-garde, and experimental rock. Lyrically, HALT confronts presssing global issues and societal crises, examining themes of war, religion, disease, media manipulation, climate change, conspiracy theories, and mortality. Pervaded by an overarching sense of dread, the album sets the stage for its companion record, LEAK, scheduled for release in 2027.
