Marcus D, Gerson Zaragoza, Omega Music Library - Polaris (2026) [Hi-Res]

Omega Music Library has released the 13th installment of its sample series, titled Polaris, inspired by the sound of Japanese fusion and rare wamono vinyl records from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The release is built around live piano recordings from a 1984 Yamaha upright, the iconic Solina String Ensemble analog string synthesizer, and an array of vintage synths and outboard gear. To achieve an authentic analog character, every sample was routed through a 1979 AKAI GX-635D reel-to-reel tape machine using Maxell XLI 35-180B master tape, a staple of Japanese recording studios during that era. The resulting sonic palette focuses on recreating the warm, cinematic aesthetic associated with composers such as Yuji Ohno, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Kentaro Haneda.
