La Sal de Mandinga is the debut studio album by the Córdoba-based group Tamboor, released in 1984 on the RCA Victor Argentina label. Recorded at Estudios Del Cielito, this project grew out of Daniel Giraudo's early work and marked the band's transition to the Buenos Aires music scene. The core lineup included Giraudo, along with musicians Ernesto Cuevas, Hugo Ordanini, Gabriel Braceras, and Horacio Ruiz Guiñazú. Musically, La Sal de Mandinga blends pop-rock, smooth jazz, and folk-rock, specifically incorporating Argentine folk idioms with jazz phrasing. Although the album achieved modest commercial success, it received significant critical acclaim upon its release. The record has never been reissued, which accounts for the high demand among vinyl collectors today.
