Huntertones - Transmission (2026)

The group Huntertones is planning to release their upcoming album titled Transmission on August 21, 2026. This instrumental funk-soul collective, originally from Columbus and now based in New York, features a core horn section consisting of Dan White, Chris Ott, and Jon Lampley. The goal of the new record is to capture the band's authentic sound, so it was recorded live in one room without any overdubs. The project will feature guest vocalists Rachael Price and Kurt Elling. The lead single, "Melodian," is a reggae-inspired track written by Ott that highlights the ensemble's tight-knit chemistry and musical range. Percussionist Nêgah Santos also contributed to the composition, which emphasizes melodic structure over simple riffs.
