Poor Isa - dissolution of the other (2024) [Hi-Res]

Belgian duo Poor Isa presents their second album, dissolution of the other, built on the austere instrumentation of prepared banjos and woodblocks. Utilizing alternative tunings and sound modifications, the musicians step away from traditional structures toward acoustic minimalism, field recordings, and ceremonial soundscapes.

Unlike the short, playful improvisations of their debut, this record features two extended compositions based on structural constraints. The piece Figures draws on modal harmonies and the free tempo of early music, creating a subtle, mirroring dialogue between the performers. The second composition, Drifter, contrasts unpredictable, dripping rhythms with an insistent, pulsing drive, elevating the work into an immersive musical ritual.
