Frank London - Touzle Your Kurchy (2026) [Hi-Res]

Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer Frank London, best known as the co-founder of the klezmer group The Klezmatics, has delivered his studio album Touzle Your Kurchy, released via Adhyâropa Records. Timed for the 250th anniversary of American Independence, the project features the Loisaida Fife and Drum Corps, an ensemble of prominent New York musicians including violinist Charles Burnham, drummers Brian Chase of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kenny Wollesen, and Newman Taylor Baker, trombonist Reut Regev, piccolo player Elijah Thomas, and Iranian multi-instrumentalist Martin Shamoonpour on Jew's harp.

The album conceptually reimagines 18th-century American military fife and drum music. It explores the historic convergence of European folk melodies (Scottish, Irish, and English) with African polyrhythms and New Orleans jazz collective improvisation. By blending Second Line grooves, Americana, avant-garde jazz, and world music, the ensemble transforms traditional martial music into a pacifist artistic statement celebrating diversity, inclusion, and cultural unity.
