Ned Collette - Mixed Light (2026) [Hi-Res]

Australian musician Ned Collette has released his eighth solo album, "Mixed Light," drawing upon over two decades of experience spanning experimental jazz, progressive folk, indie pop, and post-rock. The record's soundscape relies on vivid stylistic contrasts, shifting from quiet, melancholic acoustic moments to rhythmic psychedelic pop and raw instrumental energy. At the centerpiece of the album sits "In the Kitchen," a concise duet featuring Bonnie "Prince" Billy, whose raw vocal delivery contrasts with Ned Collette's deeper tones. Musician Leah Senior provides guest vocals throughout the project, supported by a large cast of longtime collaborators including pianist Chris Abrahams of The Necks, former Wirewalker bandmates Joe Talia and Ben Bourke, Berlin trio members Steve Heather and Fredrik Kinbom, saxophonist Tim Pledger, cellist Anthea Caddy, vocalist Judith Hamann, and flutists Belinda Woods and Marina Cyrino.
