Down To Belize is the debut studio album by the Belizean ensemble Lord Rhaburn And His Combo, recorded in September 1965 in Belize City. Produced by Compton Fairweather and released by the CES label, the project showcases the band's signature mix of traditional Caribbean styles and international dance music. Leader Gerald Rhaburn spearheaded the project to document the group's rapid rise as the country's premier dance act. The ensemble utilized a diverse lineup of saxophone, organ, guitar, and percussion to execute their eclectic setlist. The tracks bridge the gap between regional genres like cumbia and boleros and global influences such as ska and rhythm and blues. This collection captures the band during a pivotal era of touring and widespread popularity across the region.
