A. Lee Edwards - Interpreting Heart Sounds, Vol. II (2026) [Hi-Res]

American singer-songwriter A. Lee Edwards, known for his work with Chocolate USA, Lou Ford, and The Loudermilks, presents a two-part solo project, Interpreting Heart Sounds, Vol. I and Vol. II. Drawing from hard-won life experience, sobriety, and personal reflection, the artist crafts deeply intimate Americana compositions.

The second installment, Vol. II, shifts toward a quieter, more acoustic sound. Recorded in a single studio session at Echo Mountain Recording Studios alongside musicians Franklin Keel, Julian Pinelli, Zack Page, and Jim Brock, the record centers on Edwards' self-taught Merle Travis-style fingerpicking, augmented by a string section and drums. Musically, the album blends indie folk, chamber folk, and Americana with the melodic pop sensibilities of baroque pop and power pop, recalling The Beach Boys, Big Star, and The Replacements. The album was mixed by legendary producer John Wood (known for his work with Nick Drake and Fairport Convention) and mastered by Simon Heyworth.
