Walter Wanderley - Murmúrio : Murmur of Love (Bonus Track) (2026)

Released in 1967, the album Murmúrio (Murmur Of Love) by Brazilian organist Walter Wanderley became a landmark recording of the easy listening and lounge era. Dubbed the "prince of bossa nova on the organ," the musician blended virtuosic Hammond organ lines with vibrant samba jazz rhythms.

The record features a rich, dynamic group sound: despite using a basic trio lineup, the ensemble delivers a dense texture reminiscent of a big band. The tracklist balances traditional bossa nova with inventive touches, such as imitating a phone ring on the keys, alongside unexpected reinterpretaions of classical music, including a samba adaptation of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's orchestral suite Scheherazade.

In the 1990s, the album experienced a major revival within Tokyo's Shibuya club scene, helping launch the cafe music movement and establishing its status as a timeless jazz classic.
