American composer and producer Sean Wolcott has released the third installment of his soundtrack trilogy, the album Lady Swordfighter: Disciple of Dishonor, issued in the UK through a partnership between Library of the Occult Records and Clockwork. The record is stylized as a film score for Japanese samurai cinema and cult exploitation films, fusing library music traditions with psychedelic jazz-funk, soul, and blaxploitation elements. The sonic architecture blends traditional Japanese instrumentation with thunderous rhythm sections, menacing fuzz guitars, dramatic brass arrangements, soaring flutes, and haunting vocal textures.
