Discomfort (2012) is the debut album from the Lyon-based project Abschaum, founded by musician Guillaume Martinez. The album is a dark, hypnotic synthesis of French coldwave post-punk and early German krautrock. The record is imbued with a spirit of hypnotic detachment, monotonous industrial urbanism, and dark psychedelic fog, capturing the emergence of one of the most distinctive phenomena in the contemporary European underground scene.
