Alain Pierre - Vase de Noces (2024) [Hi-Res]

Belgian record label Sub Rosa has released the premiere vinyl edition of composer Alain Pierre’s archival soundtrack for Thierry Zeno’s 1974 cult avant-garde film “Vase de Noces”. Issued as a limited edition of 400 copies featuring a screen-printed sleeve and an illustrated booklet, the 15-track record blends electroacoustic, experimental electronic, tape manipulation, and unaltered historical choral passages. Alain Pierre (1948–2024), who composed scores for over 500 films throughout his career, constructed an unconventional sonic environment for the project using salvaged studio tape and raw sound objects. The soundtrack balances brooding psychedelic atmosphere with sacred medieval and baroque vocal music, holding a unique place in the history of 1970s European musical avant-garde.
