Between - Contemplation (1977)

Contemplation (1977) is a key album by the Munich-based collective Between, which became one of the key bridges between German krautrock, contemporary classical music, and global ethno-tradition. Led by visionary composer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Michael Hamel, the group brought together classical musicians, jazz improvisers, and ethnomusicologists. The album is a deep, meditative immersion into acoustic-electronic soundscapes, where Western European avant-garde music harmoniously intertwines with Indian raga, medieval sacred music, and early ambient music.
