De Staat - DE STAAT (2026) [Hi-Res]

Dutch art rock band De Staat from Nijmegen is preparing to release their seventh full-length album, DE STAAT, scheduled for September 18 via the independent label V2 Records. Following a two-year hiatus, the group returned with the prominent single "THE KING" and the follow-up release "THE FIRE," a driving track carrying a direct and confrontational social message. The album rollout is paired with an art installation and an immersive conceptual live show titled De Staat Becomes De Staat.

The record expands upon long-standing themes in the group's work, including the nature of power, misinformation, autocracy, faith, and the blurring line between reality and fiction. Frontman Torre Florim highlights that current global unrest gives the band's quarter-century-old name a renewed sense of urgency. Stylistically, the album combines the group's signature energy with a darker, more uncompromising approach to alternative rock and indie rock.
