Created in 1983 by composers Pep Llopis and Vicent Alonso, the musical project DESTIADA is an exploration of archaic Mediterranean folklore through the lens of the electroacoustic avant-garde. The work is built upon a synthesis of traditional folk instruments—such as tambourines, lutes, reeds, and crotales—with modern synthesizers and electronically processed percussion.

Moving away from classical harmony, the composers embraced modal structures, repetitive rhythms, and counterpoint. The sonic landscape draws from the musical traditions of Spain, Greece, Italy, and North Africa, framing a dramatic narrative centered on the symbolism of tauromachy—bullfighting viewed as a ritual, myth, and cultural phenomenon.
