Progger - Chronology (2026) [Hi-Res]

American musical outfit Progger, under the artistic direction of saxophonist and composer Brian Donohoe, released their eleven-track return album Chronology via the Reserve label. The sessions took place at Austin's Church House Studio, bringing together a geographically diverse lineup of guest performers from New York, Los Angeles, and Japan.

Alongside Brian Donohoe, band members Matt Muehling, Carter Arrington, and guest contributor JaRon Marshall shaped the album's songwriting. The record's sonic architecture balances complex horn arrangements and layered harmonic structures with room for open jazz improvisation (jazz). Moving from dense, funk-driven grooves like Exposition to extended narrative pieces with expansive solo sections like Mister Brown and Mochi Jones, the album delivers a cohesive statement of modern jazz fusion (jazz fusion).
