ICMC: BEST OF THE LISTENING ROOMS celebrates the International Computer Music Conference’s 50th anniversary with a cross section of today’s most compelling electroacoustic voices, bringing global talent directly to Boston’s premier historic campuses. Presented by the International Computer Music Association (ICMA) and co-hosted by a network of local partners — led by Northeastern University alongside New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and Emerson College, with participating support from MIT — this collection highlights composers from around the world whose works explore sound, technology, memory, ecology, and human experience through inventive musical expression. From immersive sonic environments to striking reimaginings of everyday materials, these selected works offer a compelling snapshot of the creativity and innovation shaping the future of computer music.
