The Tiger, the Parrot, and the Holy Frog (2010) is the sole, yet exceptionally vibrant, studio work of the Italian collective Baba Yoga, released on the respected avant-garde label AltrOck Productions. The album is an ironic, theatrical, and rhythmically sophisticated example of contemporary RIO (Rock In Opposition) and avant-prog. Inspired by absurdist poetics, folk motifs, and fairytale grotesqueries, the release builds ornate sound structures where the mathematical precision of time signatures combines with wild improvisational freedom.
