Flutist Emi Ferguson and guitarist Michael Poll embark on a journey from the dance halls of Buenos Aires in Astor Piazzolla’s “Histoire du Tango,” through the luminous stillness of Elizabeth Ogonek’s “Altair,” to the meditative soundscape of Tōru Takemitsu’s “Toward the Sea.” The American duo formed during the pandemic through online collaborations, followed by live performances across the country. Ferguson, a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, and Poll, who works as both a guitarist and conductor, approach the repertoire as equal musical partners.
