Irmin Schmidt (Can) - Kamasutra: Vollendung der Liebe (2009)

Kamasutra: Vollendung der Liebe (2009) is the release of an archival soundtrack recorded by Can keyboardist and ideologist Irmin Schmidt in 1969 for the cult German erotic-philosophical film Kamasutra – Vollendung der Liebe (directed by Kiro Raschici). Long considered a lost relic among collectors of krautrock and European avant-garde cinema, this album was officially released only in 2009 by Spoon Records. The recording was made practically concurrently with the birth of Can and the first Monster Movie sessions. Schmidt was assisted in his work by Can collaborators Michael Karoli and Holger Czukay, making this soundtrack a monumental missing link in the early history of West German exotic avant-garde.
