Achim Seifert Project - Woven Strings (2026) [Hi-Res]

German bassist, composer, and producer Achim Seifert is preparing to release a new album, Woven Strings, leading his flagship group Achim Seifert Project. The quartet features New Zealand saxophonist Hayden Chisholm, pianist Lars Duppler, and Brazilian drummer Rafa Müller, with guest trumpeter Frederik Köster appearing on a featured track. Shifting away from his previous album Dünyalar, which explored the integration of jazz with Middle Eastern traditions and complex odd meters, the new record prioritizes minimalism, a leadsheet-oriented approach, and concise song structures.

Recorded largely live with minimal edits at Hamburg's Clouds Hill studio, the session captures dynamic synergy and spontaneous group interaction. Seifert deliberately left harmonic and rhythmic boundaries open, giving the ensemble room for microtonal nuances, thoughtful improvisations, and deep interplay. Influenced by the ECM aesthetic, Keith Jarrett, and Pat Metheny, the album replaces technical showmanship with the expressive melodic power of the electric bass and the storytelling framework of a complete song.
