Megiapa - Intentions (2026) [Hi-Res]

Los Angeles-based producer, vocalist, and composer megiapa, who originally began her career in Chicago, has released her debut solo album "Intentions" via International Anthem. Shaped across years of personal and global upheaval—including the pandemic, the dissolution of a long-term relationship, and a major relocation—the album functions as a sonic archive of internal transformation, healing, and self-trust.

The musical canvas of "Intentions" blends warm synthesizer patches, meditative voice notes, spiritual grooves, Roland 808-style rhythmic patterns, and live instrumentation. Moving beyond solitary beat-making, megiapa built an expansive collaborative work featuring guest contributions from bassist The Growth Eternal, keyboardist Ahmad Muhammad (Kafari), drummer Mekala Session, multi-instrumentalist Will Miller (Resavoir), as well as producers and artists 10.4 ROG, Blvck Spvde, Aankha Neal, Telemakus, and Aisha Mars. Conceptually, the record draws from the philosophy of Sun Ra, afrofuturism, spiritual-meditative practices, and an embrace of uncertainty as a realm of creative freedom.
