The Ballistic Brothers - The Ballistic Brothers x Dub Flex EP (2026) [Hi-Res]

British record label Acid Jazz has released a dedicated 12-inch EP featuring remixes of tracks from the catalog of the electronic collective Ballistic Brothers. The original group brought together X-Press 2 members Rocky and Diesel, producer Ashley Beedle, and label head David Hill (who later founded Soul Revivers). The band earned acclaim for seamlessly fusing multiple club cultures, blending funk, reggae, boogie, hip hop, and house into a signature sound.

British electronic music veteran Dominic Dawson—known for his work under the alias Hydraulic Dogs, releases on Defected, Strictly Rhythm, and R&S, and remixes for The Chemical Brothers and Orbital—produced all five tracks for the release. The tracklist includes updated takes on the breakthrough hit "Blacker," the ska track "Peckings," the roots reggae selection "Jah Jah Call Me," a New York house-style dub of "Come On," and a reimagining of "Love Supreme," inspired by the spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane.
