Tokunbo - Lost & Found (2026)

The “Lost & Found” LP by Tokunbo is released on Yoruba Girl and marks a new full-length album by the singer, who looks back on a previous discography shaped by a singer-songwriter sensibility. The production deliberately relies on warm, acoustic arrangements that give Tokunbo’s distinctive voice room to breathe and carry melodically narrative songs. The release places the artist in a circle of established studio partners and underscores the connection between songwriting and jazzy refinement, as already hinted at on her most recent singles.

Musically, “Lost & Found” combines songwriter jazz with folky pop elements and a subtly 70s tinge that comes through in harmonic guitar lines and organically deployed strings. Longtime companions were brought in for the arrangements: Ulrich Rode on guitar, Mathias “Maze” Meusel on drums, Christian Flohr on bass, and Anne de Wolf as multi-instrumentalist; the mix is by Marc Ebermann. The tracks range from restrained, chamber-like moments to more open, melodic songs that evoke summery and urban scenes. The project was introduced via an artist campaign and announced for fall 2026, framing the LP as a consistent continuation of Tokunbo’s artistic path.
