Flowers Must Die - Tystnad (2026) [Hi-Res]

Swedish psychedelic rock outfit Flowers Must Die has released Tystnad, an album recorded at the legendary rural Silence Studios near the Norwegian border. The title directly references the recording venue itself — a historic countercultural commune and studio retreat that shaped classic Swedish krautrock and psychedelia in the 1970s, including works by Träd Gräs Och Stenar and Älgarnas Trädgård. Immersing themselves in communal living alongside guest musicians from Ved and Och, the band cut expansive avant-garde improvisations combining Swedish and Eastern folk, free improvisation, and hypnotic motorik rhythms. A nine-year gap between the initial sessions and the official release, caused by foreign relocations and the global pandemic, culminated in a multi-year editing process modeled after the studio methods of Can. The record marks the group's final release captured simultaneously in a single room.
