Finnish-American jazz vocalist Sofia Laiti built a musical career spanning from arctic Lapland to the prominent jazz stages of New York City. Her technical foundation was established through classical vocal study at the Kuopio Music Conservatory in eastern Finland, after which she shifted her artistic focus toward jazz performance, gaining national acclaim and appearing at major events such as the Pori Jazz International festival.

In 1991, supported by a grant from the State Music Council of Finland, Sofia Laiti relocated to New York City, immersing herself in the global capital of jazz. Over the decades, she has collaborated with acclaimed instrumentalists, including John Hicks, Houston Person, Ray Drummond, James Weidman, and Essiet Essiet. Her discography includes albums such as Manhattan Memories, Inspira, The Midnight Sun Will Never Set, You Don't Know Me, and Like A Road Leading Home, showcasing a progression from jazz standards to interpretations of Bob Dylan. Her vocal style is characterized by a smoky, deep timbre, flexible phrasing, and a seamless blend of vocal jazz with jazz-pop sensibilities.
