Lorenz Kellhuber - Gestalt (2026) [Hi-Res]

In June 2026, acclaimed jazz pianist and professor of jazz improvisation Lorenz Kellhuber recorded the album GESTALT at Berlin's Emil Berliner Studios exclusively for the Qobuz platform. The recording session was carried out entirely through spontaneous free improvisation, without pre-written sheet music, harmonic structures, or a predefined tracklist: all seven compositions (GESTALT 1-7) emerged organically in the moment.

Inspired in his childhood by a televised performance of the Oscar Peterson Trio, Lorenz Kellhuber has built an extensive discography and earned international acclaim performing both solo and in a trio setting at prestigious venues such as the Montreux Jazz Festival. With the GESTALT project, the pianist exemplifies his core artistic approach—abandoning prior planning and translating physical impulses straight into the raw energy of acoustic piano jazz.
