Christy Doran - Disambiguation (2026) [Hi-Res]

Guitarist and composer Christy Doran partners with Indian tabla virtuoso Imran Khan on the cross-cultural duo album «Disambiguation». The collaboration bridges rock energy, blues, jazz improvisation, and Irish folk melodies with the intricate rhythmic structures of Indian classical music.

Drawing inspiration from Jimi Hendrix, John McLaughlin, and his own Irish heritage, Doran incorporates Uilleann pipe phrasing on tracks like «Ode to Johnny Doran» and «Dark Slender Boy». Khan, representing the Delhi Gharana tradition, provides rhythmic drive and nuanced textures. Across tracks such as «Taal Pravaah» and «Mantra On An Irish Stream», the album presents an exploratory fusion of ethno-jazz, avant-garde, and world fusion.
