Raiz De Pedra - Trajetoria (Reissue, Remastered) (1985)

The crowning achievement of the Brazilian instrumental quartet Raiz De Pedra, released by the prestigious German jazz label Enja Records, the album is a masterful synthesis of complex European prog-rock dramaturgy, South American jazz fusion, and the rich folkloric heritage of southern Brazil (including the traditional rhythms of milonga, chamamé, and samba). The album's title ("Trajectory") reflects the group's evolution from the regional avant-garde art-rock of the 1980s to mature, internationally recognized virtuoso ethno-fusion.
