Sonus Umbra - Digging for Zeros (2005)

Digging For Zeros (2005) is the third studio album by Sonus Umbra, cementing their status as one of the most intellectual and compositionally sophisticated bands of the American prog scene of the 2000s. A direct, logical continuation of Spiritual Vertigo (2003), the album delves even deeper into dark conceptualism. Its narrative explores the themes of the digitalization of human experience, the devaluation of meaning, simulacra, and the search for authenticity among the "zeros" of modernity. Musically, the release demonstrates the ultimate balance between classical European prog, academic avant-garde, and contemporary American art rock.
