Pet Shop Boys - A man from the future (2026) [Hi-Res]

The British electropop duo Pet Shop Boys — Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe — worked with Professor Andrew Hodges, the principal biographer of Alan Turing, to create an audio-musical biography of the mathematician, computer-science pioneer and wartime codebreaker. The piece, titled "A Man from the Future", combines music, vocals and narration to portray Turing as a man ahead of his time.

It was first performed in July 2014 at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London, played by the BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Singers choir, with actress Juliet Stevenson reading the narration. For the new edition, Pet Shop Boys and the German composer and arranger Sven Helbig revised and rearranged the work. It was recorded over the past year in the UK and Germany, featuring the chamber ensemble Manchester Camerata Octet and the Manchester Grammar School Choir; Stevenson again narrates, and Helbig arranged the string and vocal parts.
