Antoni O'Breskey - A Wild Inhabitation (2026) [Hi-Res]

The composer and pianist Antoni O’Breski was born in Italy but lives and works in Ireland. For fifty years he has been developing piano improvisation, blending Irish traditional music with flamenco, jazz, blues and classical influences. Since the 1970s he has been regarded as an innovator of world music, with more than 35 albums that bring together different musical traditions. The most notable are Irish Meet the Blues (1980), the cross-genre Al Kamar (1988) and the symphonic concept album Orekan (1992).

He has worked with internationally known artists, including Ronnie Drew and Antonio Carmona, and today he mentors the younger generation of the Irish folk scene. One of them is his daughter, the singer and musician Consuelo Nerea. The National Concert Hall in Dublin recognized O’Breski’s contribution to Irish culture with special celebratory concerts in 2005, 2007 and 2012.

His new album A Wild Inhabitation, which began as a father-daughter project, has grown into an intergenerational meeting of Ireland’s traditional, folk and experimental scenes. It is released on 16 October 2026 and launches on 22 October at the National Concert Hall, in the year Antoni marks fifty years in music.
