ANAÏD - Libertad (2016) Hi-Res

ANAÏD was founded in 1981 in northern France by drummer Jean-Max Delva and vocalist Emmanuelle Lione. After a long hiatus, the band reformed as a family trio (the parents were joined by their son, guitarist Alexis Delva).
The album "Libertad" marked a return to the distinctive but rather rare subgenre of progressive rock—Zeuhl (pioneered by the legendary Magma). The album's sound is built on dense, hypnotic rhythms, powerful jazz-rock passages, Emmanuelle Lione's eccentric vocals, and a dark, ritualistic atmosphere. The title of the final track, "Mr Hopper," is a direct reference to famed Canterbury bassist Hugh Hopper (Soft Machine), who collaborated closely with ANAÏD in their early years.
