Thomas Clausen - Turn Out Of The Stars (1998)

Thomas Clausen and Severi Pyysalo are unquestionably two of the most thoughtful and gifted musicians in Scandinavia today. As a promotor of leading European jazz virtuosos, I of course knew Thomas' and Seven's music separately, and previously toured Severi Pyysalo and his group in Australia in 1995. Two years ago I had one inspiration: To bring the exquisite piano-spell of Thomas Clausen and world leading vibes-sound of Severi Pyysalo together in performance and a recording. The moment they met in Copenhagen, there was that magic, understanding, togetherness and passion in great musical performance, one rarely gets to experience when truly great musical minds do meet. Please listen to the best 'inter-generational' piano/vibes duo the world can offer..." Henk van Leeuven
