Stefan Bellnäs - Podunk (2018)

Swedish musician and Beches Brew bassist Stefan Bellnäs has released his debut album Podunk on the Country & Eastern label. On this record, he performed bass, keyboards, and all guitar parts, joined by musicians such as Lisen Rylander-Löve, Staffan Svensson, Johan Kylén, Shree Sundarkumar, Anders Kjellberg, Johan Håkansson, and Acka Matérn. The work features an eclectic sound blending hardcore jazz, country nuances, and krautrock, echoing the experimental spirit of Frank Zappa and releases by Johan Lindström. A standout highlight of the release is its melancholic pedal steel interludes and guitar introductions, which set the tone for eccentric tracks like Archana Profana.
