Rinky Tinky Jazz Orchestra - Dreamers (2019)

The Rinky Tinky Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2016, born from Giuseppe Russo’s desire to combine three elements often missing from contemporary music: high-quality performance, access to the world’s finest stages, and an enjoyable, entertaining experience for both the audience and the musicians themselves. The orchestra brings together professional musicians from diverse geographical, generational, and musical backgrounds—hailing from cities like Milan, Catania, Rome, and Florence. While each member possesses a classical foundation, they contribute their unique skills and qualities to forge something entirely new. This vision is rooted in a commitment to sharing Italian culture with the rest of the world. The orchestra’s four arrangers—Stefano Ciuffi, Federico Ferrandina, Ambrogio Frigerio, and Andrea Leprotti—each bring distinct styles and approaches to jazz, allowing the Rinky Tinky Jazz Orchestra to explore a wide range of musical genres while maintaining its own signature sound. The ensemble meticulously crafts every aspect of its arrangements, from harmony and melody to rhythm—all while enjoying the camaraderie of old friends, much like a family gathering to share food and drink. Their album *Dreamers* will be released on December 6th. Recorded live, the record features four original compositions alongside six classic Italian songs—including tracks from the *cantautore* (singer-songwriter) tradition—all completely reimagined.

It is a record of great beauty, showcasing four original tracks—each distinct and exceptional in its own right—ranging from the exuberant title track "Dreamers" and the melancholic "The Place Where I Belong" to the instrumental "Groove Me" and the rich, acid-tinged jam session that is "Move It On, Rinky Tinky!" The covers presented are sensational, combining excellent music with superb vocal performances—a jazz-infused reimagining of great Italian classics that breathes new life into them, transforming them into vibrant, compelling tracks.~ by Maurizio Donini
