Lucia Rango - Lucia Rango canta Piero Ciampi (2026)

In 2022, the Milan-based label Anni Luce released Lucia Rango Show on LP and CD — an album recorded in 1967 by singer Lucia Rango and devoted to the songs of Piero Ciampi. Now, thanks to Four Flies Records, it returns in expanded form as Lucia Rango Canta Piero Ciampi and is available digitally for the first time. The reissue was prompted by the discovery of a recording long believed lost: “Non chiedermi più,” the only vocal duet in the career of Livorno-born Ciampi, whose partnership with Rango remained in obscurity for decades. The album was made under Ciampi’s own supervision, with arrangements and conducting by Maestro Elvio Monti and choral parts performed by I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni. Its sound combines Italy’s great songwriting tradition with the jazz, orchestral, and beat-music influences characteristic of the Italian Sixties. The program includes new interpretations of several classics that Ciampi released in 1963 under the pseudonym Piero Litaliano, along with four songs he wrote specifically for Rango’s ethereal voice. Those four songs survive only through her performances, which makes the album an important and long-forgotten document of Italian singer-songwriter history, one that collectors seek out today.
