Chiara Civello, Clap! Clap!, CCCC - CCCC (2026) [Hi-Res]

Italian singer-songwriter and composer Chiara Civello and producer Cristiano Crisci, who records as Clap! Clap!, have made a joint debut album, CCCC. Their worlds seem far apart: Civello brings an expressive, almost weightless voice and a songwriting tradition, while Clap! Clap! brings exploratory, rhythm-driven electronic production. In the studio, though, they proved to be remarkably close.

It began spontaneously, with the two exchanging instrumental sketches and vocal ideas. Civello found melodies and unconventional song structures within Clap! Clap!’s constantly shifting rhythms, and gradually the duo developed their own language built on voice, percussion and curiosity.

The result is ten tracks of deep grooves, organic textures and cinematic detail. The music moves through slow-motion house, broken beat, soulful R&B, jazz and acoustic song, drawing lines between Africa, Sicily, Brazil and the Americas. Thematically, the album swings between intimacy and expansiveness, light and darkness, touching on grief, renewal, ancestry and self-discovery.

Mauro Refosco, Dario Bassolino and Stefano Costanzo contributed to the recording. The song “A Jurnata” is sung in Sicilian, with lyrics written by Civello together with Mattea Musso. The album is also the first release on Quarter Moon Records, an independent label founded by Chiara Civello as a home for music guided by potential, transformation and new possibilities.
