Music from Heaven Down to Earth brings together seven works for string orchestra by two of Canada’s leading composers, CHAN Ka Nin and Alice Ping Yee Ho, performed by Nurhan Arman and Sinfonia Toronto with soloists Susan Hoeppner and Luisa Sello (flutists), and Xiaohan Guo (violin). Celebrating a creative partnership between the conductor, orchestra, and two composers that spans decades, the recording spotlights the remarkable creative contributions of two Chinese-Canadian composers who have helped shape Canada’s contemporary musical soundscape.
