Animal Collective - Michael, Remember / Danny's Jam (2016)

Songs are extended improvisational jams recorded at Drop Of Sun Studios during the writing and rehearsal sessions for Painting With.
Handmade packages designed and duplicated by Adam McDaniel at Drop Of Sun Studios in Asheville, NC, and sold exclusively at Animal Collective's Asheville show at The Orange Peel on 08/05/16. Hand numbered and labeled. Inserted inside each O-card sleeve was a die cut sticker of the orange Drop Of Sun logo (piano keys in a semi circle like a sunrise). Each O-card sleeve was wrapped in a 1" wide slice of paper from pages of a book of dada artwork.

Drop Of Sun Studios is a recording and production studio in Asheville, NC, USA. The studio is specifically geared toward experimental artists, which is why Animal Collective spent time at Drop Of Sun writing and rehearsing songs for Painting With before tracking the LP at East West in LA, and subsequently mixing the LP in Paris at Gang recording Studio. Owner and engineer of Drop Of Sun, Adam McDaniel, designed and duplicated each cassette. McDaniel remastered the recordings specifically for cassette duplication. (Side note: McDaniel recorded the sample of ping pong sound for the single "Gnip Gnop").
