Aïmenda is a Graz based duo featuring soulful jazz vocals, energetic latin american guitar grooves and swinging lines. A fusion between spherical soundscapes of jazz and brazilian music.
We tried to developed a unique way to bridge the gap between improvised music, contemporary jazz and brazilian music. As we have a strong grounding in jazz from our studies on the prestigious jazz course at the KUG Graz.
From this background, the idea of the duo is to find new approaches to the art of interplay within a duo and to develope a subtle dialogue between space and connection.
From our first experimentations as Aïmenda in 2014 there has always been a search for an individual musical language between jazz, brazilian music and beyond it’s borders, still honoring the improvisational element of the jazz tradition.
