The Kinks' thirteenth album originally released in 1975. Soup Opera is a concept album that describes the tale of a musician, Starmaker, who switches places with an "ordinary man" in an attempt to understand life. The record produced singles "Holiday Romance", "Everybody's a Star" and "You Can't Stop the Music".

Recorded August 1974-October 1974 at Konk Studios in London, UK.
