UNORTHODOX – After a few successful single releases on Boddhi Satva’s Offering Recordings, Milez releases his Debut Album on Ethnic Records, his own record label. Although he had spent quite a while at Shota Music and graced many stages with Shota and the likes of Black Coffee, Ralf Gum, Oskido, Eltonnick, Culoe De Song and many more, he only got his break through when Offering Recordings released the first single of his debut album titled Thumela featuring Alexander James, which went on to Offerings 2016 Amsterdam Dance Event compilation album. Milez comes strong on identifying himself in the Afro House scene with this piece, He wrote strong african stories yet relative to the black rural culture and also touches on the matters of the heart on songs like “Love Will Win” and “Reasons and Promises” which both feature the talented singer, Decency. ‘Notice You’ featuring ZE3, who is also signed to Ethnic Records, made it to a number of playlists and DJ sets around the world, with remixes from Boddhi Satva and Migosy and went on the top 10 Afro House chat on Tracksource for a week. Amongst the mentioned, he also featured Chappell, Zawadi, Yao, LoveChild and Tamba, vocal collaborations with artists from different African countries, From South Africa to Zimbabwe, Botswana to Uganda. A tribal Afro House album with heavy drums and percussions, live guitars, marimbas and an electronic touch. As UNORTHODOX as it is, this album is only an introduction to the journey of Milez and a light serving of what Ethnic Records has to offer.
