Pacifico - Pleamar (2017)

The passage of time gives the suspicious feeling that the ways of feeling and expressing are disappearing. Even worse. That everything is converging and becoming the same. The band in rebellion, decided that its creative focus was with one foot in emotional honesty; what provokes and excites us to compose and touch on the one hand. On the other, forgetting the trends, the niches, the labels that catalog everything. It is not relevant. What is relevant is the identity and the total conviction that this is the genuine artistic product, which flows from the soul. That is still connected with the pre-adolescent who discovers in music his purpose in life.
Carlos Saez and Felipe Galaz, the composers and conductors of this band, converge from musical projects - in collaboration with other musicians - that appear dissimilar and difficult to reconcile. "Seminal", progressive band of the Chilean scene, with a decade of activity in the body and an LP released in 2015, has been continuously the band where Saez has developed and grown as an interpreter and musician. Very close to bands of demanding and forceful instrumental expressiveness, Seminal is recognized and followed profusely in Chile, even in Argentina. Saez is today not only the voice of Pacífico, but also guitarist and keyboard player.
Galaz meanwhile comes with a string of band projects from the already distant scene of the Chilean Rock of the 80s, and recently -from his Late Harvest project, with whom he edited a self-titled LP in 2016- he has been shaping together with Saez to Peaceful. Galaz is the bassist and to some degree the creative producer of the band.
This work that has just come to light has been Mixed and Post Produced by the outstanding engineer of Cuban origin settled in Chile, Gerónimo Labrada. His contribution was vital to crystallize this first Pacific LP, and in the plans of all is already on the horizon a second LP, taking advantage of the prolific activity of the creative duo of Saez and Galaz.
The band hopes to remain faithful to that extemporaneous aura that exists in their creations, where the central theme is always in the melodies, the most thoughtful and binding lyrics possible and a strong live activity.
